01/19/2008 | Abel was the most innocent of all the early heroes in the Bible. God favoured him more than all the others, Abel did no wrong. God was pleased with Abel but loved Cain (giving him the Mark of Cain to protect him, as well as a long lineage and worthy, God fearing descendants) as well as Seth (who was given very long life). Abel was the victim of the first recorded murder in history, Cain was jealous of God's great love for Abel. Abel was declared a prophet by Jesus of Nazareth.
