 | Paula5816 (4) 10/09/2008 | my aunt works for the USPS and I have to tell you she has quite a few co-workers who have the seniority matters syndrome...you know those people that think they don't actually have to work because they've been there for 18 years....

 | souljunkie (21) 02/23/2006 | Somewhat well paid too and mostly lazy buttheads. Nothing happens quickly and efficiently in a post office in my experiecnce! Sometimes I wonder how the post office is really so efficient after all is said and done.

 | CastleBee (89) 02/23/2006 | I understand. I worked there part time during the holidays once to supplement my income during a time when I had been layed off another job. From my observation, the problem stems from a very large faction of unorganized, incompetent management. Basically what happened was the regulars took the whole holiday help thing to mean that they could dump the bulk of the work load on the temporary workers - who were conicidently drawing about half the pay. Many then proceeded to kick back and take it easy slowly writing out label tags, conversing and sipping coffee. Meantime, the rest of us were running around like ants in a windstorm trying to sort packages into bins. The really retarded aspect of that exercise in stupidity was that the bins were on wheels and could easily have been sorted alphabetically which would have taken about 90% of the frustration away. I could see this in one day so I knew I wasn't the only one. The PTB just simply did not care. They also didn't care about keeping track of the time I slaved away over there either since some of the time cards came up missing. It took me until March of the next year to finish haggling with them about the pay I should have received in December. Yeah, going postal is no mystery to me. I just thank God that I didn't have to let my anger build up for more than three months time.
