 | oscargamblesfro (77) 12/19/2005 | Started out pretty dreadful for their first 15 years, but, starting in the mid 90's they produced a ton of talented players, including future Hall of Famers like Griffey, Johnson, and Rodriguez, and they also had guys like E.Martinez, Buhner, and other fine players around. Their pitching was average, other than Johnson. Their relief pitching in particular is what did them in. The only other team I can think of that had so many big names for an extended period and didn't win a Series is the Giants of the 62-71 era. Lost them to free agency, but went on a roll anyway with Ichiro, winning an amazing 116 games, though they failed to reach the fall classic. Have been way down in the standings lately, but seem to be slowly on the upswing now.

 | AvalonMan96 (1) 08/12/2005 | World's most annoying baseball announcers. Goodbye Baseball has been lame since the first time it came from the announcer's mouth. The announcer brings the whole team down, and therefore the one star rating.

 | Jar-Jar Binks (16) 04/07/2005 | They spent $114 million on sluggers Richie Sexson and Adrian Beltre so they better produce. Ichiro will have another great year but I doubt that he'll break his own record for hits this season. They're pitching is suspect. Jamie Moyer is their ace at 42 which is quite ancient. If Seattle gets off to a slow start, expect Manager Mike Hargrove to get a mid-season pink-slip. It will all be his fault.

 | baseballfan44 (0) 01/15/2005 | This is my all time favorite team. By the way onehungrymonster, their record was just 1 season. They are normally way better than that. That was just a fluke, in my opinion

 | Moosekarloff (17) 06/04/2003 | This franchise keeps losing marquee players, yet still finds a way to remain very competitive. Outstanding front office is the reason why. They will challenge Oakland and Anaheim for the West crown, and if they come up short in this regard, they will certainly be in the running for the Wild Card.

 | Shafty (2) 04/05/2000 | Nice team this year, even though they lost Griffey Jr. It is very important for them to do what it takes to keep Alex Rodriguez around for as long as they can.

 | anne416om (0) 10/26/1999 | What a joke - all this talent and Pinnella is still the manager there. They should look at the Indians who won 100 games and stull fired Hargrove because he could not get the job done. With either A Rod or Griffey Jr. not around next year - it will be another long year in the Pacific NW for baseball fans.
