This is a very real threat. This is one of the major problems with illegal immigrants. They are buying people's social security numbers to get jobs when they get here.

Take every step you can to keep your identity safe. Always shred any personal information that you don't want anymore.Don't just throw them away in the trash.Although you're never 100% safe anymore, at least you're doing everything you can to protect yourself.

though this really is an issue that many need to realize it could happen to them as easily as it could to anybody. as far as me being scared i dare anybody to steal my identity. actually i'd trade it for a better offer.

You would be too if you lived in one of the top states for identity theft.

For you homeowners out there, now's a good time to call your insurer and ask if you can get identity theft coverage...it's a small addition to your homeowner's policy and worth the small cost. . .

it has crossed my mind about this happening. it is scary to know how easy someone could steal my identity and how it could destroy my credit and just being stolen from. it is sad to think how many scummy people are out there who could do such a thing.

It's too easy to get ripped off dudes. Also, why should I have to pay for protection and why should I pay for my own freaking personal information!? That's screwed up dudes, the scammers are the only people who are protected!
