I suppose not. I mean, what's the worst that comes of talk? If you step on your dick you get to deal with what you said, like Trent Lott or Harry Reid (wait, Reid got a pass, my bad). Or better yet, could there be a better expression of the right of free speech than that bruhaha with the Dixie Chicks a few years ago? They said what they wanted to say and nobody killed them, they simply put their wallets away. Yes, that my friends is freedom. Everyone can say what they like if they are prepared for a reaction, and when it comes down to it, the market will dictate who listens to your ass. I don't know about the rest of you, but I think I just grew a little there. Isn't it cool? Let them all speak and let them eat cake, especially Rosie...

Nobody should be banned.Everyone has a right to express themselves.I'm talking individual persons, here. When lobbies and corporations try to claim that giving money to politicians is "freedom of speech" it makes my blood boil. That's bribery, and ought to lead to public whippings and stockades.

Sorry, I have to side with Voltaire and will defend to the death the right of people to spout nonsense whenever/wherever they see fit--no matter how shrill, inane, etc. I just can't help it...I believe in free speech...so long as I retain the right not to listen.

Besides, with everyone talking at once there's always the chance that the biggest loonies will be lost in the din.

Nobody should be banned from speaking. If they are an idoit or offensive, then the others who are not banned from speaking have the right and responsibility to point it out.
