The way the profanity filter is supposed to work as that reviews containing profanity trigger a request to "clean it up." If the reviewer reposts the review without changes, the review should always post. Currently, the profanity filter is preventing anything it views as profanity from posting. (Add picture)

Back when this thing was in full force, marauding around the reviews like the chairlady of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Baptist Revival Church of Buzzard Tit Alabama, some pretty funny things got flagged.

I remember trying to write a review about presidential inaugurations, and used the phrase "inaugural balls." Flagged it every time. I finally had to write "inaugural formal dances".....

Good idea, there is no reason to use profanity on this website. Some people really cross the line and take "freedom of speech" to the extreme. The use of profanity in writing shows an immaturity in the writers ability to communicate. If profanity is allowed on this site then a warning should be issued when you log on, saying this is an adult site.

Lame. Weak. Profanity shouldn't be overused, but some things are profane and this place used to be the platform for it. . .

Honestly a hell or damn does not offend me all that much, but GD and some others do.

The profanity filter is certainly a nice reminder to perhaps consider revising one's language, but not all profanity should be off limits, resulting in this bug being a slight irritation for my relatively rare comment that contains a choice word or two. For instance, I recently wanted to revise a comment that included the common quote "damn the torpedoes", yet the filter wouldn't let me make the change. There simply is no substitute and the "d*amn" that I had to use for this comment just doesn't have the same zing. The bottom line is that while this fix shouldn't be a rush job, I don't want it to fall down the priority list too far.

Nice feature. It sort of lends a hand to my more creative side of writing. Besides, the word "pooh" always made me giggle.
