I just recently returned from my first trip to Sodom and Gemorrah..uh..San Francisco. I was in town on business with a gorup of co-workers...we asked the Concierge at the hotel where was the best place in the area for seafood. We followed some convoluted directions, to arrive at a restaurant that was OPEN, but DESERTED!!!! (side note, do NOT trust the opinion of the Concierge at the Hyatt - Embarcadero) We had strayed past the Boulevard on the way, and it was pretty busy, but we decided we would rather wait than risk it. It has to be the best decision we made on the whole trip! The wait staff is courteous and prompt. We are seated in about 20 minutes, thought the place was packed. Our waiter was at the table within 2 minutes to take our drink orders. We asked for recommendations from the days menus, and got a pretty solid set of options. I went for the Sushi appetizer, Filet Mignon main course, and wonderful braised custard for desert. Throughout the meal, services was timely and excellent. The food was prepared exactly to order, and I found the portions to be in the "just right" zone (Filling, but I could still walk out!) Even though it was not (I assume) provided by the restaurant, the mealtime entertainment at the table next to us was quite intriguing (40+ year old man trying to "put the make" on some 18 year old blonde haired princess). Downsides: If you find yourself in need of the restroom, be prepared for a hike...carry a compass and map and be in comfortable shoes...it is quite a hike (pardon the pun). This was the best meal we had in our 3 days in town. HIGHLY recommended.

Bring $$$$! Friendly, not pushy, waitstaff. They DO tend to overcook the steak orders, however. But the desserts almost over-ride that one deficiency. Just go and enjoy the overall experience.

Excellent food and service. My favorite SF restaurant. I make it there about three or four times a year, and always great.

This is definitely one of the classy spots in San Francisco. Out by the water front, it has beautiful scenery. The waiters are really nice, and the food is superb. However, you don't get much on your plate but the quality of the food makes up for that. The prices are high.

Friendly, non-overbearing service. A very comfortable interior, and the food is fairly good. The entrees are almost too overdone, but not so much to harm a good meal.

The atmosphere was much more casual than expected. The desserts were the best I've ever had. But the steak was dry and overcooked.

This restaurant is rather expensive. However, the food is great. The establishment is more well-known for its desserts, which are spectacular. They also have a wide selection of wines in stock.
