Here in the UK we recognised the greatness of the Stray Cats way before they got any acknowledgement back home. My rating is based on his work with the Cats as I havent heard any of his big band stuff. At the time his playing was a refreshing alternative to shredding cockrockers and talentless punk strummers. Proficient but tasteful. Technically skilled but no showboating. Many in this list would do well to take a few lessons from this fella.

An inspiration to all guitarists everywhere. I've met him here in Hollywood, and he's the nicest guy ever. And his skills, come on! He gave Dave Mustaine LESSONS for Christ's sake. He connects with some hard chords so smoothly he makes me drool. Everyone here who thinks he's shit obviously doesn't have any ears. Not to mention he is one of the few artists of today who actually look like they're having fun onstage. He puts on a great show, every time. Honestly, who could ask for more from a guitarist?

Great fun loving keeper of the Rock and Roll flame. He rips into his guitar like a kid with a hot rod in a street race every time he takes a solo.

This guy is a monster. I saw him with his orchestra a year or two ago and he was just fantastic.

There are so many great guitarists, and I think you have to give Brian Setzer his due. He can play fast, impressive licks and has a great sense of style and showmanship.
