The premise for this series, a forensics expert who doubles as a serial killer, sounds bizarre, but that's part of the appeal of this quirky show.

Update: Just finished season 2 on DVD, and despite hearing from others that this season didn't live up to the first, I enjoyed it immensely. I liked how the plot made Dexter appear less likable than he was in season 1. Despite his claims of having no feelings, it became clear that he does, and can actually be quite conflicted about them. I know season 3 is out there, and its annoying to have to wait for its DVD release.

3/2/2008 - My wife and I are watching Dexter now that it is on CBS, and absolutely love it. She is a huge fan of forensics and crime dramas, and I love things that can be just a bit quirky. So this is a show that is great for both of us. Serial killers are intriguing individuals, and the way this show presents Dexter as a killer with a righteous mission is very entertaining.

this is hands down the best TV show I have ever seen. The drama is riveting.

Dexter has to be one of my favorite ShowTime series ever.......Michael C. Hall's performance as Dexter Morgan is wonderful, I was so glad to see him back after 6 Feet Under went off the air......I have been faithfully watching Dexter from the very beginning and I also own both season 1 and 2 on dvd..... I cant wait for season 3 to come out to dvd as well so I can add to my collection.......with that said season 4 could not come soon enough......I'm sitting on the edge of my seat until then waiting for Dexter to take up my Sunday nights once again.

I remember running across this series when it was an unknown and now EVERYONE watches it. I was hooked on season one and two so we'll see how season 3 does. The only problem now is I have high expectations.  I enjoyed episode 1 from season 3. It was nice to see more character development in Dexter himself. I won't say much more to spoil it for people.

Was excellent in the first season, some episodes in season two weren't up to par. Waiting for season three though.

The best show that my girlfriend and I have ever watched. Love the styling, story lines, the inter character relationships. Michael C Hall is fantastic. The only concern is that we are finding a psychopathic killer sympathetic!

Great show with an unusual theme. Michael C. Hall is fantastically unemotional and a cape crusader at the same time. Can't wait for season three!

I haven't watched much of it, but I thought Michael C. Hall was excellent in the title role. Completely improbable storyline, but then a lot of great drama has been built on improbable storylines. In fairness, I really haven't seen enough of the show to rate it fairly (and I'm not sure I'll be watching much more of it; while I will guiltily admit that I read voraciously about gangsters like Dutch Schultz and John Dillinger during my formative years, I find as an adult that the public fascination with serial killers can be as disturbing as any show purporting to explore the topic), but Hall is superb, as he was in "Six Feet Under". Watch it for the great acting if nothing else.

A fascinating and different show where you find yourself  behind a serial killer hoping he wont get caught! Great characters and wonderful writing raises this show above the subject matter---which can be grisly. In the same vein as OZ--the prison show--and Sopranos.

what a great series. I mean for those of us wanting so see wrongs righted....Dexter handles it! I do think season one was better than season two, but still LOVE the show!

one of the few shows that my wife and i actually watched when it was on as opposed to watching it after it was tivoed. it's not for everyone as it is quite graphic.
