 | MattLee (1) 03/06/2007 | i might get a lot of flack for this but comodo although the best firewall does have some negatives. 1)is the fact is it is a resource hog 2) is the fact it is imcompatible with a lot of applications. 3)is th fact no matter how many time u accept an application, sometimes it will keep popping up 4) its not the most user friendly, u have to know what to accept and what not to. 5)with the newer versions ive had a problem with it making a lot of my applications not be able to connect online and it will just do this out of nowhere ((had gaim running and 5 mins later gaim just stops working, i though that at 1st it was my internet connection but even after reboot a few times still nothing. i then thought it was gaim, i tried to get online to redownload it and i couldnt even get online. as a last resort i removed comodo and low and behold i had internet connection)). this wasnt a fluke either because i downloaded the newer version and the same problems popped up again. ive moved to kerio and have had zero problem yet and for the newbies on here u dont even had to accept or reject applications if set for beginners.
all and all comodo is the best firewall IF and thats a big if 1) u can deal with the glicthes and 2) if u know what youre doing. if u don know what youre doing then plz dont download this or u will b uninstalling it soon after if ur pc works.
i myself have found kerio to offer fair protection with a lot less hassel and kerio conflicts with very few applications, is easy to use and uses very little resourses.
