It's not that hard for me to go a few weeks without a drink, but after a month or so, any old beer can look pretty good. A couple of years ago I had an experience which I won't describe here that prompted me to quit drinking for a while. I didn't have a drop for well over a month, but there were a couple of old bottles of MGD in the fridge that a friend had left at my place a few months earlier. And for some reason, all of a sudden that skunky old MGD, which I'd usually turn down even if it was newer, started looking really good. That skunky old bottle of MGD was one of the best beers I've ever had.

Since I'm on some new medication, I've decided to quit with the drinking. It hasn't been difficult. In fact, I just realized that I haven't had a beer in almost a month.

For me its cake. I haven't had a drink this month, actually. Sad...

Like anything else in life, abuse is bad. And like anything in life, done with moderation isnot harmful. Drinking is not an exception.

I guess it depends on if you're an alcoholic or not. Me...I don't have to have it, but I really enjoy a drink every now and then.

If you are a social drinker there is little incentive to even consider doing so.

For some people it's harder than others. I believe it's the social nature of drinking that makes it more difficult to stop at points though the nature of alcohol dulls the frustration with life many try to subconsciously curtail. That does not mean however that many can't drink and have a killer time doing it. I unfortunately spent over a decade crashing cars, getting arrested, fighting, spending too much money, and defiling myself while getting nowhere. By removing this one variable life's accomplishments have become much easier to attain.

Not if you've never drunk at all! ^_^

For a lot of people, this can be a hard habit to break. In fact breaking any habit is very hard.

i agree. this stuff is good. a few times ol' skizero took all the bottles in the house and dumped them, only to go out and buy the stuff the next day. i learned something. the problem is: people treat drinking like it's wrong and something you should stop doing. that's crap. what you shouldn't do is drink and get violent. i booze it up every day. i go to work crocked and come home crocked. i dont beat anyone or fight. there's nothing wrong w/what i drink, or how much i drink.
