I had my tonsils out when I was a kid, so I know I'll never be bothered with tonsilitis again.

So far, they haven't been a problem for me. I remember as a kid thinking that if they had to come out at some point, at least I got a big dish of ice cream at the end of the process. Now, as a middle-aged adult, I'm facing wisdom-tooth extraction, and am promised a script of Vicodin or Percocet at the end of the process. Maybe if my tonsils do start acting up at this late stage of the game, I can get a big dish of ice cream with a sprinkling of crushed Vicodin and/or Percocet on top at the end of the process.
