I joined ning to access a social network and now, am not able to access any ning social network!!! I tried contacting ning but i only received the generic response with a ticket number and a link to the ticket but I can't get there because ning won't let me! My group is a private group and none of the links to the group work! None of the emails from the group can be responded to and none of the new invites to join the group will take me there either. I left the group and am all alone with my ning profile, friends that I can't talk to or interact with, and no social networks available to me! HOW UNSOCIAL OF A SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE!!! I AM ALONE ON A SOCIAL NETWORK!!!

Joined alumni group site powered by Ning. Initially it was all good. The administrator chose 'Public' over 'Private'...not cool with that option. Somewhere along the line, I used the same password and was unable to gain access. I clicked 'forget your password', filled in all the necessary info to gain entry...now, I have 2 profiles. The old profile, I can not gain access to. I contacted the Ning reps using my email to address the problem - twice. Each time the Ning reps asked for my name! For what? All they need is the email. When I was new to CollectiveX.com (now Groupsite.com), I did have this problem. I contacted the reps using my email and the problem was corrected (it was my error) without the reps requesting my name. Strange that the Ning reps did! It make you wonder, what's really going on with Ning. Whatever it is, I'm off completely!

Very buggy, with security holes. Although at first glance Ning seems smooth and easy to use, it lacks some very basic capabilities (like allowing users to broadcast messages to everyone in the network, which is essential for a 'closed' community). As for security - almost every time I log in (as the administrator) Ning thinks I am someone else (who I've never met nor heard of). It shows his name, and shows me all of his Ning networks. I've reported this to Ning, and, after lots of back and forth, the refuse to acknowledge that this is their problem (I can recreate the problem at will). Tread carefully, and don't expect privacy.

I started Eyecandythemes.ning.com for Ning creators and members and I have to say that Ning does have a great platform. I enjoy working and helping my members and my community is growing everyday. I see great things in the near future with Ning.

This is a great site with some great people behind it.

good idea, but hard to get people interested enough in your social network to join. people like established things like myspace and facebook where there are a ton of users, but if you make your own you don't really have any credibility to random people. they don't really have any motivation to join!
