Imperfect masterpiece. Yes, Juno says all the hipster things at all the right moments. Yes, the film always wants her to be the smartest person in the room. I've heard the quibbles about this film but it won me over. It's funny and engaging. Love the actor (Simmons) who plays Juno's dad- listen carefully for his hilarious one-liners. And Ellen Page ('Juno') is going to be a force in Hollywood unless she makes terrible career choices because she's great on-screen.

Juno started off really slow. I was within five minutes of flipping open the laptop and relegating the movie to background noise. But just when I started to think that Juno was a parody of indie - a pretentious after school special with forced dialogue - the movie rallied and got good.

I liked Justin Bateman and Elizabeth garner as the yuppie, hip couple who were trying to adopt the baby. Just about everything rung true for me from the woman who was dying to be a mom to the guy who was scared to get old. The girl star of the movie gets gradually more endearing as the movie goes on.

One warning however: if I had heard one more Belle and Sebastian esque indie pop song I would have gone into a homicidal range. Oddly, they talk about a bunch of different styles of music in this movie, but only play one.

A surprisingly good movie, and one that I really did not expect to see. It stars Ellan Page as the title character Juno. Michael Cera as her nerdish and clueless boyfriend Paulie, and Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner as the prospective adoptive parents. Juno is a young girl that unexpectedly comes up pregnent (what young 16 year old girl ever really expects it?). The movie takes us through her discovery, telling her boyfriend, facing her father and step mother (J.K. Simmons and Allison Janney), thinking about abortion, and finally adoption and everything in between. There were several touching moments in the movie but the two that stand out (to me) were when the step mother defended Juno's honor when the ultra sound tech more or less put her down, and then near the end when she is in the hospital bed crying silently, because she has given the baby away. The are always consequences to our actions. Ellan Page played Juno to perfection, as a razor sharp teen, who marches to the beat of her own drummer. She is somewhat of a little smart ass but she plays it cutely, hence the Oscar nomination. Go see the movie.

Good movie with a good cast. Ellen Page was especially good as Juno the teenager who finds herself pregnant. She decides she will have the baby and opts for adoption. She picks out a couple from an ad she saw in a paper. meets with them.deals with the reactions from peers her kind of boyfriend who got her pregnant, and dad and stepmom. funny and touching. especially at the end when she gives birth and who gets the baby. nice little indie movie. well done. nice to see movies do not have to cost tons to be good.

My girlfriend took me to see this, and I was also pleasantly surprised as well. It was very nice and a sweet movie. Ellen Page is definitely a talented actress.

Juno is a gem. I was dragged to see what I was sure was going to be a stereotypical chick flick about a pregnant teenager. What a wonderful surprise to find that it was not at all a chick flick. It was funny, witty, engaging, wonderfully acted, and left me feeling warm and fuzzy. Totally charming, and one of 2007's best comedies.
