 | jy826 (20) 05/26/2008 | Talented, athletic big-man who saw playing time at center and power forward who looked awesome at times but was wildly inconsistent and had tendency to look disintersted or lost during games. Played best basketball of his career during 2nd round of 1991 playoffs against Golden State Warriors and in 1995-96 season, where he was in final year of contract. Jerry West made one of his few mistakes as a general manager by giving him 7-year, 49 million contract but then did not mesh with Shaq on the court during the 1996-97 season and was moved to the bench for the 97-98 season with Robert Horry taking his spot in the starting lineup and ulimately traded to Charlotte Hornets along with Eddie Jones (as only way Lakers could trade him was to package him with Eddie Jones) for Glen Rice, JR Reid and BJ Armstrong, a move which did not work out for the Lakers. Had he had played with more fire and intensity, no telling he good he could have become but he didn't and that drove Lakers front office, players and fans nuts.
