	FranksWildYears (48) 03/31/2008	I'm not so convinced that the great strides we have made in communications technologies in the last decade have actually improved the quality of our lives. Volume and velocity, absolutely, but who says that is necessarily a given as an improvement. People do things faster, can reach further to speak to people on the other side of the world, can do it for a fraction of the cost, etc. But most of the discussion has been centred around more, more, more and little if any time has been spent evaluating whether being able to instantly respond to e-mail by while sitting at home having dinner with your family has improved the quality of your work, or your actual productivity. As with everything though, I can't think of a single technological advance that we as a socitey has rejected. We are addicted to change. But some of the technology, can, and have become a nuicance because of misuse. I guess everything has pluses and drawbacks.
