Tastes sharp and without any character. Someone compared it to tap water mixed with potent moonshine. They are right. I have been drinking Scotch (occasionally) for many years and have drunk very expensive single malt scotches and some very inexpensive whiskys. The thing I have liked about scotch is that I can personally drink it all night and stay sober and wake up the next day feeling fine. Not so, this stuff. It packs a real wallop, I had a buzz before I knew it, and I had not intended to get buzzed. I had to actually mix it with water to make it palatable and even then it was a toss-up whether to put it in the back of the liquor cabinet or just toss it down the garbage disposal. If you want a cheap, strong buzz, buy this stuff. If you want a good tasting, easy to drink Scotch with character, stay away from Scoresby.

Inver House is better. This tastes like lighter fluid mixed with wet dog.

This scotch is lacking in flavor, but it is very smooth. This is a great inexpensive beginner scotch. Another scotch in this price and quality range is Clan McGregor. Its not for seasoned scotch drinkers, but someone just entering the world of scotch should give it a shot...especially for the price.

Very easy drinking blended Scotch. Sacrifices character and bold flavors for smoothness. Which isn't always a bad thing. I prefer to spend a little more in the blended category and go for Ballantines. Just my personal taste.

I'm not a single malt guy, don't like the peaty taste. Scoresby is right there, if not superior in taste to Cutty, J&B;, and Dewars. In a blind taste test -- myself, Uncle and Cousin -- Scoresby was the unanimous pick of the above brands. Is that science or what? I've been drinking Scotch for 40 years. I love this one.
