Your response ignores the rather suspicious fact that the only number you cite that matches the USDL's own data table is Reagan's max...suggesting that it may be a number measured by the alternate method that you call out as inaccurate.

@abichara, You've referred to U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics unemployment rate figures as "sleight of hand" and note the difference between that and total unemployment rate, but then go on to compare a total unemployment percentage of today (and I assume the 1970's per the official data, which peaked at 8.5% during that decade) to that very same U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics unemployment percentage during the Reagan years...

Isn't that pretty much the definition of junk stats analysis?

This is the first time appstore's genius function has recommended anything good to me :P

Wow, fantastic rewrite. I'll have to check out the director's cut on DVD. It's been a while.

Hook Champ is a charmingly low-res platformer iPhone game where you use a grappling hook to navigate dank, dark caves collecting coins and saving pixelated relics. The relics have been cursed, and so as you swing around each level, you're followed by a black blobby creature that rawrs (it's really more of a rawr than a roar) and eventually eats you if you go too slowly.

The coins allow you to buy powerups and weapons...which come in handy as the levels get pretty damn hard after a while.

Gameplay is incredibly satisfying, and the NUI was well thought out. Controls are simple and intuitive, and the game is a lot of fun. My one complaint is that they play quick intro sequences each and every time you retry a level....It would be better if they skipped the few text blocks if you've played the level before.

Regardless of that minor complaint, this is one of the best games I've found on the iPhone yet! Major props to the developer for creating a fun and innovative game.

Here's the trailer so you can get a taste of the quirky, low-res graphics and the blobby monster :)
