Migh High Mutts is a very clean, bright, well maintained and well staffed dog daycare facility in Lodo. I have not used their 2nd location. The staff was very thorough and great with my dog. At least one of the owners was on site when I picked up the dog along with numerous other employees. Mile High also discourages barking, which I appreciate as my dog is not and hopefully will not become a barker. Moderately priced, good convenient location. There are some other day cares in Denver offering more elaborate play areas, pools, and equipment which you may or may not feel is needed for your dog.

I use Ritz/Wolf Camera for the majority of my photographic needs. Ritzpix.com is the online finishing house for both of these stores.

Whats great about Ritxpix.com is that I can upload my digital files to their website and only make one trip to the store to pick them up. I still get counter service, the clerks will gladly correct an order if its been printed wrong and I don't have to deal with the hassle of mail order.

That said, I use a mac and I'm not sure if the cause for Ritz's glitchy web uploading is my platform or their programming, but be aware that you might experience some errors. Also as of right now you can not have 11x14 prints (or larger) created in stores from the website. You can however have them mailed.

Photoworks offers a great array of finishing options at solid prices. My most recent experience with photoworks was a pleasure.

Three years ago I found half a dozen rolls of expired non-traditional process film in my deceased grandparents' home. I'd been trying for to find a finishing house that would charge me less than $30 a roll to process the film when I stumbled upon photoworks $5 process and web upload. With free shipping and free film replacement how could a girl go wrong?

The site is sometimes a little slow and rough to navigate, but the company offers lots of freebies (25 free 4x6 prints for joining) and has great prices!

At mPix.com you can upload and print your digital photos. The prices are really great and the options are far more varied than at other online print houses, including metallic paper!!! They even added a new software program that allows you to edit and create orders with fancy drag and drop technology. This is where the problems come in.

The new Mpix Roes program is wonderful in theory, but on my mac it is slow, buggy and cumbersome. The multitude of pop up windows don't fit comfortably on a computer monitor and the creation of groups and sets is unwieldy. The most frustrating problem on this site is the cost of shipping. A customer can't order black and white, color and metallic prints in one order, which would be okay if the cost for shipping wasn't a flat fee of $4.95. So one great priced 8x10 will double in price!

If you use Mpix, do so in bulk to save your pennies.

I'll admit to being a complete flickr addict. Ever since Corporate Security blocked the site at work my 6 hour a day habit has been pushed back to one. I know there are worse addicts than I am, but you can be sure I am qualified to rate this site a full "13 megapixels".

If you don't know flickr and you ever take any photos then you should go to www.flickr.com right now. Check it out, come back... I'll wait.

In it's simplest form flickr is a photography community, but the endless updates and recent merge with Yahoo allow flickr to be oh so much more.

Flickr allows you to:
store photos
share photos
create photo sets
learn about photography
create groups
join groups
rate photos
comment on photos
make friends
print photos
get exposure
share your expertise
participate in contests
and more!

Its quite simply the best photo community I've found on the web and I highly recommend it.

First I should admit: I liked Eggers fiction book "You Shall Know Our Velocity" better.

That said, Dave Eggers has a really unique voice that lead a new generation of writers. For that I am most appreciative. In addition to igniting a movement he writes good books. "Heartbreaking Work..." has elements of the absurd and yet Eggers manages to wrangle the outlandish aspects of his life and create a human portrait that any 20 something can appreciate.

Con: The references to pop culture of Eggers time may be isolating to some older readers.

I love David Sedaris. He is a great writer who is honest about his strange compulsions, past drug use, current cigarette addiction, homosexuality, fears, lifestyle, and family. I can always count on laughing out loud when I read Sedaris. I highly recommend any of his books.

Better yet, get your hands on an audio version in which he reads. His dry sense of humor is all the more revealing in his voice.

Augusten Burrough's has a knack for making the horrifying hilarious. His biographical account of a childhood shaped by his mother's psychosis is no exception to this special talent.

In "Running with Scissors" Augusten recounts living with his mothers psychiatrist's family. Children run amock in this clever memoir filled with akward moments, coming of age experiences and much humor. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys cynical clever funny memoirs.

A conflicting quality is the level of depth in this book. Touching in an annecdotal sort of way it's an easy read, but may dissapoint those who seek a heavier message.

For me the best thing about Hyannis is the ferry to Marthas Vineyard. Its an alright town, but without spark. Hyannis feels like just another New England tow.

This is one of those towns on the big arm that I wouldn't call a tourist destination. Its very suburban with lots of families and not much else. Not a bad place, but lacks the flair of other beach towns on the cape.
