Hamsters have a tendency to be biters. Definitely NOT a good choice for young children.
A hamster from a breeder, who hand raises them from birth, will reduce the biting risk but no guarantees.
Very cute, but not terribly social. The only up side I can see, is the plethora of toys and accessories available for them.
If you just want to watch them in their cage or little running ball, no one can deny their cute factor, but if you want a pet that will interact with you, not such a good choice.

They are larger than the other pocket pets and more docile. They make a good choice for younger children, but only if you're willing to keep up with their maintenance. They're very messy little critters and if you don't keep on top of it, they'll make quite a stink. They're very lovable and cute, though, so most piggy lovers don't mind the maintenance.
Females love the company of other females, but males prefer to live alone and have a tendency to fight. Something to keep in mind.

Not as interactive or affectionate as a rat, but gerbils do have their good points. People tend to like them because they have a fur covered tail and, if you keep their cage clean, they produce very little odor.
I suggest finding a breeder vs a pet store. They have a tendency to bite, but hand raising and selective breeding helps to curb that quite a bit.
If handled from a young age, they will tolerate being handled, but they never crave the interaction like a rat does. (and if they get loose, they won't come and seek you out, like your rat would)
It's fun to watch their antics in the cage and they're cute. But if you're wanting a pet that will enjoy your company and play with you (not just on you) a rat is a better choice. IMHO

One last thing...they breed like crazy. For heaven's sake, make sure you get a same sex pair. Make sure they both have furry pillows under their tails :-) or they both don't!

My husband smokes full flavor and I smoke menthol. We usually make our own, but sometimes we have to buy a pack of cigs from the store. I thought these would be perfect because we could just share a pack.
How disappointing. The cigarette itself is terrible and the little menthol ball is hard to crush and then it is so strong that it'll clear your sinuses. But worse than that, it has a fake, chemical taste.
Nasty cigarette.

You'll notice that there are no bad reviews from anyone who has actually HAD a rat as a pet.
They are unlike any other 'pocket pet'. "A rat is very smart and can be trained. They extremely social and crave human interaction. They will beg to be taken out of their cage so they can play with you. They'll actually play games with you. They interact, get excited, show affection. A pet rat that is played with and loved will come when it's called.
They're a wonderful option for apartment dwellers. All the love and affection and funny antics of a puppy without the shots, walks in the rain, barking or carpet puddles :-)

I smoke these as a treat. They're not like any other menthol. They have a distinct spearmint flavor. Almost exactly like wriggleys spearmint gum. I couldn't smoke them on a regular basis, but I do enjoy them on occasion.
If you like wriggley's spearmint gum, you should definitely try a pack.

These menthol cigarettes are different that any other. They have a distinct wintergreen taste as opposed to straight menthol.
I really enjoyed the first one. It was sweet and I enjoyed the unique flavor. But by the end of the pack, they started to remind me of a mildew after taste.
They're a good choice if you just want something different or you're going out (they taste great with Mojitos)
I must say, I enjoyed them a lot more when they were buy one get one free :-)

By far my favorite cigarette. The No.9 menthe (it's a green package, not the pink shown in the picture) has a wonderful smooth flavor. Enough menthol to truly enjoy it, but not so much that you feel like you're smoking vicks vapor rub. The very first puff is just delicious, with a hint of chocolate. We usually make our own because it averages about a $1.50 a pack, so splurging on pre-made cigs is a treat. These are worth it!
