My 5 1/2 week old was on similac alimentum after getting out the IUC when he was only 22 days old. they found out he had a protein problem. He was the alimentum for weeks. The first week was good then thing went bad. He start projectile throwing his food up 2 time a days which would come through his nose and mouth. It was horrible. The projectile of his food cause his sinus to get bothered and he started having alot of mucus in his throat and nose for 9 days which was causing him a hard time to breath. Good thing is he hasn't projectile but once since i switched him to nutramigen 4 days ago.He also got constipated on the alimentum after a week. The extra sugar in it caused him to still have some gas and tummy pains but they weren't as bad as when he was on similac reg. and soy formula or enfamil gentlease.
I love how the nutramigen enflora has LCC. I think its great for him to have with all of his tummy problem he has. This formula may cost alot but its so worth it. I did some research and found out a week ago my untied health care insurance will cover the cost of this formula since its a medical need. You just need to check with ur insurance, then find a medical supple store that carries this formula and it gets shipped to you house in a monthly supply. Its awesome.

My son who is 1 month now has been on 4 formulas since birth. First similac advantage, the their soy one, the enfamil gentlease now the doctor put him on similac alimentum. My son starting having bad gas all the time once we brought him home from the hospital. He did the worse on the soy formula then any of the other ones. He wasn't sleep well at all, he just cried in pain all the time cause of the bad gas and his skin was so dry. I couldn't get him to eat but an 1 to 1 1/2oz of formula every 2 hours. He just didnt want it cause it hurt his little tummy so much. The doctor put him on alimentum almost 2 weeks ago and he is doing alot better. I found out tho. He does alot better on the ready to feed then the powder formula. The corn in the powder which is not in the ready to drink was hard on his tummy too. I love the ready to drink, no tummy aches. It is just a like costly tho. I did some research with my insurance company and found out my united healthcare insurance covers this formula under medically needy. I just had to find a medical supply store that carried it and could fill it as a medical claim. I called alot of medical supply store and finally found one that carries this formula and now i get it shipped in a monthly supple to our house each month. Its awesome.
