As a New Yorker, I can tell you I honestly feel it's a BAD idea. Even though it would be nice to say I have done it, it's not worth it. I know several groups of people who have attempted it. You have to get there early in the morning and wait ALL day. You can't drink, use the bathroom, or even leave your pen. Plus, it's COLD here in December! So even though it is the center of the universe on New Year's Eve, it's better to watch it on TV!
