The best, funniest, more realistic and most entertaining Christmas movie. Written and narrated by Jean Shepherd(who is the voice of the adult Ralphie) the story is about a Ralph Parker a boy growing up in the midwest in the 1940's with his mother, father and younger brother Randy. All Ralph dreams about for Christmas is getting the Red Ryder BB gun and he tries various ways to convince his parents, his teacher and Santa that would be the perfect gift. The movie stars Melinda Dillon, Darren McGavin and Peter Billingsley and they are wonderful and hilarious in their roles. Some memorable scenes include when one of Ralph's school mate's in a dare get's their tongue stuck to a pole, when Ralph says the f---(fudge) word, when Mr Parker(the father) wins the hideous leg lamp, when the mother feeds Randy mashed potatoes and much more. It really is a delightful Christmas movie.
