(1908-1973) 36th President of the United States. As President, Lyndon B. Johnson pursued Civil Rights aggressively. He signed two landmark bills: The Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

the president who did more for civil rights than anyone other than lincoln. the life for a negro in many parts of america were not that much different in 1960 than they were in 1880. although i believe that we have gone too far with affirmitive action and quotas today, i believe that all citizens have basic rights and freedoms that must not be violated.
