Oklahoma Thunder

Became the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2008. The Seattle Supersonics joined the NBA in 1967 with the Houston Rockets as part of a two team expansion. Led by Jack Sikma, the franchise reached the NBA finals in 1978 and won the NBA title in 1979. The Sonics again reached the finals in 1996 behind the play of Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp, only to be defeated by Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. The Sonics play their home games at the Key Arena in Seattle, WA.
