There's nothing exceptional about the building itself. You could be in any 70s era building. There's a general lack of history that makes it impossible to compare Hilton with the classic arenas around the country. But the passion of 'Clone fans makes Hilton a great place to watch a game when every seat is filled. They get into the game as much as fans anywhere. ISU fans can be negative to opposing players during a game, but they're always friendly to visiting fans, win or lose. However, the building loses points for not being full every night and for the overwhelming commercial presence since the video scoreboard was installed. I understand that's part of the reality of modern college athletics, especially at mid-sized state schools, but there are far too many promotions during a game.
