Star Trek returned to television with new episodes after an eighteen year hiatus with a true bang. Although I didn't see these episodes in first-run, I've watched them all on the high-quality DVD set! The music in the episodes is awesome and bombastic, being based on the TNG theme. The early-style TNG uniforms are still my favorite, right up there with Voyager's colorful uniforms. Highlights of this season include the amusing The Naked Now, where the crew faces a biological menace faced by another starship named Enterprise; The Arsenal of Freedom, where the crew battles robotic weapons from the past (and has the incredibly-awesome saucer seperation!); Heart of Glory, featuring the return of Klingons; 10111001 featuring the return of spacedock and an unseen threat to the great Galaxy-class starship; and Conspiracy, where the entire Federation is threatened...from within! Tasha Yar came and went this season. Also, in the pilot, Troi had a cool uniform with a mini-skirt. She looked great in it, why wasn't it kept? Overall, one of TNG's best seasons. The exploration feel was there and there were lots of humorous moments throughout.
