Gay Marriage

reviewed by irishgit

On November 18, 2003, The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled that gay couples are legally entitled to get married under the state's constitution, overturning a ban on same-sex marriage. President Bush has spoken out against gay marriage, and the issue figures to be important in the 2004 presidential election.

Gay Marriage 1

Interesting to see how so many folks, right and left, gay and straight, pro and con, are buying into this ridiculous debate. My personal view of gay marriage is pretty much a "don't care," but I'm not going to take up cudgels for or against it. Given the wealth of critical issues that are facing the nation and the world, for this item to be as high as it is on this list, (given the wealth of critical issues thereon), with the most comments, shows clearly the ignorance and shallowness of the voting public.

Gay couples [who want equal treatment under the law] and their supporters have a reason to be concerned with this issue. However, it seems to be most 'important' to bigots.

Irish, I respect your opinion even if it is wrong. :)

This is about discrimination...so I would say that would suffice as important.
