Subway Sandwiches and Salads 1

The biggest thing Subway has going for it is convincing customers that they are eating healthy when they eat here. Fast food is fast food, folks, and just because its not fried doesn't mean its good for you.

If you think this is eating healthy, you need to read a bit about nutrition.

You can customize your sandwiches to be very healthy if you read nutrition facts and know how to construct meals nutritiously. I agree, most of the meats and cheeses are processed and have nitrates/nitrites added to them, but if you're looking for a better alternative to something like McDonald's, you can pile on the fresh veggies and fat-free sauces on a whole-wheat bread and have something much better. Even if you do add a few slices of meat or cheese, it gives you a little extra protein (and you can choose something lean like turkey breast or chicken breast), you're still doing a bit better than many of the other fast food chains out there, especially ones that serve mainly fried and greasy food.

I do agree with you, however - many consumers are uneducated about what they put in their stomachs and allow themselves to be fooled into thinking that just because there are in fact some healthy options possible at Subway, everything there is healthy. This is partially consumers' fault, though, because we as customers need to be responsible for our bodies and making healthy choices for them.
