They're old, and a touch brittle, but they're tough. If they face Edmonton's young guns in the first round they'll have to slow the game down or risk getting run off the ice. UPDATE: Having tuned up against Nashville, shouldn't have much trouble from a Calgary team still mauled from a tough physical series with Vancouver. Could be over quickly, especially if Detroit eschews it's normal slow series start. UPDATE: Age appears to have caught up to this franchise in a hurry. A major rebuilding job is in the offing.
