Who needs a star player or a permanent captain on this team when goalies Nabokov and Toskala step up when needed, everone plays consistent hockey and end up #2 seed in the western conference? They have a very experienced coach, they are healthy enough to go all the way and they can face anybody away. (Execpt at Buffalo who is 15-0-0-0 against the Sharks lifetime, but that won't matter.) update- This is the time that the Sharks are going to avenge the last two tries against this team. Now that they are sppedier, bigger and stronger, do not be suprised that they can finally win a series against them in perhaps a few days as the Avs are a little weakened by some injuries and their lack of executing defense when facing a team that can accelerate. 5/4 update>> I guess the Avs wished Roy was back, he outdueled Nabby in the last two meetings. Yes, I saw them being the one to defeat them since they were able to shut down the nearly composed star players. Now they are going to face their former friends, Miikka Kiprusoff and coach Darryl Sutter in this matchup. They have to be aware that they are not going to shut down Iginla only, but many others. Now that there some rookies scoring for the Sharks, this will be a great game to see who deserves the Clarence Campbell Cup. Update(5/22): ;( OK I have to admit, I'm an avid Shark fan and I thought that they are going to go all the way, but this was a great series as they faced their former coach and goalie. I can see that it burns them to send the Kipper away. The bright side though is that they were in unchartered territory and they had no experience, but they did their very best- but look how close they were! I heard that the teams were equal, but Calgary's 4th line could not be matched. do look for this team the next season (if there's one), they may act like the next Edmonton Oilers of the 80's if they keep thir players and their strategies secret and intact. Thanks Sharks for a great season!
