While it is true that we live in a world where we constantly strive for physical perfection, and regularly compare ourselves to images we see in the media, I firmly believe that a womans desire for breast implants often runs far deeper than a need to comply with what is perseved to be beautiful.
For many people breasts are a sign of femmininity and to have little or no breasts can cause much embarrasment.
Many women are so affected that they are afraid to undress infront of a partner, doctor or even in a communal changing room.
While some people may find these feelings ilogical, to the women who experience them, no matter how beautiful, successful or otherwise happy they may be, they are real and consuming.
Therefore breast augmentation shouldn't be seen as a negative self indulgent procedure, but as a positive step to making a woman feel more attractive and confident.
And in response to the previous comment on this page, I imagine that women with breat implants sleep just like the rest of us... with their eyes shut and their head on a pillow.
