Well worth the boat ride from London itself. Greenwich is not what one normally thinks of as London (i.e., hustle and bustle, big buildings, confined spaces, noise, traffic, etc.). It's a great place to walk around, relax, and enjoy the many small spcialty shops that abound. If you go to the Observatory, you can stand with one foot in one time zone, and the other foot in another time zone (at least that's the theory).
