Legendary coach Larry Brown became head coach of the Detroit Pistons prior to the 2003 season. In what some considered a classless move, Pistons GM Joe Dumars fired head coach Rick Carlisle following a 50 win, #1 seed season which included ousting Brown's 76'ers squad from the playoffs. Larry Brown brings to the Pistons the reputation of being one of the game's finest teachers, and for being obsessed with teaching players to play "the right way."

he started his head coaching in NBA in 1976, he proved to be one of the best head coach in NBA. in his almost retirement era, especially in his last 6th season, he manage to have a winning record (with phila and detroit), it's just unfortunate he never one championship (he won NCAA in 1988).
