Barbra Streisand

Born in 1942, Barbra Streisand released her first CD, "The Barbra Streisand Album," in 1963. Her most popular songs include "People" and "If I Could." Streisand has also appeared in movies and Broadway productions. Her various performances have earned her Tony, Grammy, Emmy and Academy Awards.

I have no problem giving her credit as a fine actress and an accomplished singer. However Ms Steisand, along with many others in the entertainment industry seem to feel that being able to act or carry a tune somehow empowers them with insight above and beyond that of the average citizen.
