Playing Superman was not a bad career move for George Reeves. His movie acting career was almost non existent. Too bad he hated being stereotyped. Had he not died he could have joined Buffalo Bob Smith when he made the rounds of college campuses in the early 1970s which helped ignite the nostaligia market which is stronger today than ever before. Max Baer and others who resent the roles that made them famous don't understand that their fans want them to love the roles they played as much as we loved seeing them in those roles. Those who embrace their past TV personnas often reap financial benefits that in many cases outweigh what they made when they were current.
