Life Goes On was one of my favorite TV shows of the 80's, early 90's and I don't think it gets enough credit. This was one of the first shows of the era to deal with such weighty issues as Aids and retardation. It was also the first time that a mentally challenged character was played by a mentally challenged actor on national television. For some reason this show, despite its heavy realism, always touched my heart- from its cheerful Beatles theme song to the way the family always survived together.
