The Capitol is a beautiful building..full of history, art and government at work. Unfortunately right now they are building a new visitors center which has it a bit torn up on the outside. As for the person who was complaining about standing in line for hours...they should have done a little research. If you call your Representive or Senators office in advance they often provide special tours which bypass the outside line. This is what we did and it was great!
