In 1993, it was Minesweeper. In 1996, it was e-mail. In 1999, it was e-bay. Today, my newest digital vice is spouting my rants about how much I hate Friends and other 2 cents to nobody in particular. Rateitall is my new online thing. I do most of me ratings on my lunch hour so I am still a productive employee. However, I check several times a day to see if I have an increase in helpful comments. That's sick. In general, I don't think people goofing off on the Internet during the work hour (in moderation) is the worst thing in the world. They are at their desk, ready to answer the phone or handle an urgent tasking. If they didn't have that release, people would just stray away from their desks and be out of pocket (either taking an extra long lunch or out smoking or something like that).
