Nick is so immature, selfish and phony, unfortunately many people get caught in his charm. There are lots of mediocre nicks around, they just fill empty spots. He got himself some extra air time because of the Intrigue with Amy, which was necessary to cultivate for the show popularity. As of being hot, I don't know how these words can even apply to him...
