Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves joined the NBA in 1989 as part of a two phase expansion that included the Miami Heat, Charlotte Hornets, and Orlando Magic. The Timberwolves made the playoffs for the first time in 1996, getting swept in the first round by the Houston Rockets. The team plays its home games at the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN.

 


Memorial

They put up a strong showing against the virtually invincible Lakers in this year's Western Conference finals. Kevin Garnett is awesome, just awesome, the best big man from a shooting perspective since Patrick Ewing. They'll be back, and since the Lakers won't, they'll be more of a threat than ever.
