Whereas even the Sega Dreamcast managed to avoid the anti-aliasing and slowdown problems that plague many games of the PS2, the PS2 is inferior in graphical capabilities to the X-Box and, naturally, the GameCube. Part of the reason for this is natural--it is a year older. Even more, the much touted emotion engine chip turned out to be a pain to develop for--whereas the Nintendo GameCube has been said to be a breeze to develop for! So far, no PS2 game has matched the flawless 60FPS fighting of Super Smash Brothers Melee, the stylized worlds of Super Mario Sunshine or the blistering speeds of the GameCube version of Sonic Heroes.
