The FF series is one I've always found to be extremely polished. One can expect grandiose plots with religious, societal and romantic underpinnings as standard. To this end, the original FF7, I believe was one of the most influential games of all time. It demanded from then on that games be more of an epic engrossing experience then just a bleeping distraction for a few hours or so. There were many games like this beforehand but they were the exception rather then the rule. Usually I'll immensely enjoy any FF game, but to this day I still await another game which can inspire the same childlike giddiness in me that FF7 did and still does today
