The Munich massacre occurred during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany, when members of the Israeli Olympic team were taken hostage by Black September, a group with ties to Yasser Arafat’s Fatah organization. (Wikipedia)

To say that the massacre of the Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics was not the most appalling moment in Olympic history is absurd and insulting. Nevermind the fact it was the most appalling moment in Olympic history, it was THE most appalling event in sports history. This single event showed the world the brutal savagery and senselessness of terrorists who will go to any means to disrupt any peace in the civilized world. While the Israeli athletes ought to be always remembered, their killers (who left a permanent scar on the Games) ought to burn in hell for being the worthless cowards they truly are.
