Founded in 1890 as the Brooklyn Bridegrooms, the franchise changed its team name four times before permanently settling on the Dodgers in 1932. The Dodgers and Giants became the first Major League Baseball teams west of St. Louis when the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles and the Giants to San Francisco in 1958. The franchise has won six World Series championships, the most recent one in 1988. An NL West team, the Dodgers play their home games at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, CA.
