i first started watching the steamboat as a kid during his first stint in the mid 80's wwf. loved his fueds w/ the magnificent muraco, jake roberts and the macho man. then after FINALLY winning some gold he loses the belt to the honkytonk man? ouch.
his matches w/ flair in the nwa/wcw were great also. but how they portrayed stemaboat as the 'family man' taking his wife and kid to the ring...blah. the cynical citzens of the united states doesnt want to see that crap.
and it seemed after losing the title to flair and a short stint in the wwf afterwards...the dragon was gone.
