I think the existence of the book and its interpretation by a hostile press (anti-Bush) make it a factor in the election. Not many Americans will read it, I can't tell you how many liberals bash Bush with a conveniently partial list of its contents. Undecideds hear the bashing and think that those points are what the book is about. Woodward enjoys enormous literary and political respect, making the slant credible to too many.
