even with nixon's baggage mcgovern managed to win only in massachusetts and d.c. he didn't even win his home state. he had to dump his veep after the convention. on top of that, his acceptance speech wasn't even delivered in prime time, he gave it at about 2 in the morning when practically everyone was asleep. not that it mattered, his speech sucked.
