Release of U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee report detailing CIA intelligence failures

Says Committee Chairman Pat Roberts, R-Kansas, "Before the war, the U.S. intelligence community told the president as well as the Congress that Saddam Hussein had stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons and if left unchecked would probably have a nuclear weapon during this decade. Today we know these assessments were wrong."

Certainly takes away most of the public's faith in American intelligence, not that there was much there to begin with. However, considering that John Kerry voted to authorize the President to go to war based on the same intelligence that Bush cited in going to war, I don't see how Kerry can criticize him for this or how it could be particularly damaging.
