Otis Redding

Born in 1941, Otis Redding released his first CD, "Pain in My Heart," in 1964. Some of his most popular songs include "(Sittin' On) the Dock of the Bay," "Respect" and "Tramp." Redding died in a plane crash in 1967.

Quite simply, Otis was the greatest soul singer to ever grace this planet. Every time I listen to Otis sing songs like Try a Little Tenderness or I've Been Loving You Too Long I say to myself it doesn't get any better than this. Otis Redding was in a class by himself.
